5 Reasons to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium
As many people know, there's loads to do and see at the Two Oceans Aquarium. Whether you are young, old, a marine biologist, or just visiting us on your birthday - the Aquarium is guaranteed to provide you with a unique and memorable experience. Let's take a look at five (of the many) reasons why you should visit the Two Oceans Aquarium.
1. Visit your favourite animals and meet the new ones!
The Two Oceans Aquarium is home to a huge variety of animal species of all shapes and sizes! From sea turtles, to jellyfish, all the way to Western clownfish (or nemos, as they are more popular known). As much as there are often standout favourites among our visitors, like the ragged-tooth sharks or the rockhopper penguins, there are always a few hidden gems that are known to fascinate many people once they are spotted!
Many of our Two Oceans Aquarium members visit frequently (courtesy of their unlimited visits perk), not only to check up on their faves but also to meet new animals they've not yet seen. The Aquarium brings in new 'residents' quite often and also releases some of the ones that are ready to re-enter the wild.
2. Scuba dive inside the Aquarium
Never dived before? Long time diver looking for a unique diving experience? If either one applies to you - then you've come to the right place! The Two Oceans Aquarium Dive School offers a wide range of PADI-certified scuba and freediving courses for all experience levels. Newbies typically start with a PADI Open Water Diver Course or PADI Freediver Course.
Those who are curious to try scuba diving before committing to a full course can take a PADI Discover Scuba Diving Experience with us.
3. Experience a BTS Guided Tour of the Aquarium
If you've ever been curious as to how the Aquarium has been successfully operating for the last 28 years - here's your chance to find out! Book an amazing Behind-the-Scenes Guided Tour for you and your loved ones, and venture through all the locked and ''staff only'' doors in the Aquarium. This experience is a real eye-opener and is something not many people get to experience.
So, if you're keen to see what and how our animals are fed, how we get seawater into our exhibits, and so much more, then book your Behind-the-Scenes Guided Tour now!
4. The perfect event space!
We're nearing the end of an amazing year, and with that, we're ushering in the festive season - a time for parties, functions, celebrations, and more. Although you might find trouble getting your hands on a slot this festive season - the Two Oceans Aquarium is the perfect place to make your event vision a reality.
Two Oceans Aquarium is renowned not only for its magnificent marine displays, but also for its distinctive function venues. Host an event in front of one of our iconic exhibit spaces, or move into The Avenue for larger events, and our experienced functions and events team will take care of your safe event needs, from setup and audiovisual equipment to sustainable catering and decor. All that's needed is you!
5. Ocean education
The Two Oceans Aquarium is one of the most exciting environments you'll ever find yourself in, and is one that encourages you to have the most fun possible. However, the main objective and purpose of the Aquarium is to educate people about our ocean and the importance thereof. Along with our wonderful staff, various education courses, and many other initiatives, we understand the magnitude of seeing marine life before your very eyes, and we hope that it provides every visitor with a sense of pride and responsibility towards the ocean. If there's anything you'd like to learn about the ocean or any of its wonderful marine life, the Aquarium is an amazing place to start!
In addition to the few things mentioned above, there are plenty more reasons to visit the Two Oceans Aquarium. So, if you've been waiting for a sign - this is it!
SEA YOU SOON!
