Ocean Campus: Exciting courses for the next generation
One of the primary functions of the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation is to positively impact young, hungry minds in order to create forward-thinking ocean warriors. This is made possible through exciting, interactive, and unique learning opportunities - much like the Ocean Campus courses provided by our Foundation.
The Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation delivers seamless, world-class, experiential and curriculum-aligned ocean and environmental science education from early childhood to adulthood. Since its establishment, these courses have impacted over 1 million learners, and have played an integral role in the development of many marine biologists, scientists, oceanographers, and more!
From learning new ways to live smarter to being introduced to marine sciences and kick-starting your career in oceanography - these ocean-themed courses are sure to fulfil your hunger for knowledge.
"After completing the Young Biologist course, as well as the High School Volunteer Course, I felt more informed than ever. These courses were extremely enjoyable and allowed for maximum exposure to marine life- and ecosystems while at the Aquarium." - Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation Sea Turtle Clinic Coordinator, Razaan Keur
Participants in all programmes have access to the Aquarium’s many exhibits and animals and its world-class facilities and equipment. The Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation also provides online and outreach programmes for those who can’t visit the Aquarium due to distance or affordability.
Courses on offer:
The Exploring Oceanography course is for Grade 11 and 12 learners who are eager and motivated to learn more about oceanography.
The High School Volunteer Course is aimed at Grade 10 to 12 learners who want to learn more about the marine life that is found on the Western Cape's shoreline, and who are interested in growing their passion as a volunteer at the Two Oceans Aquarium.
